Jacques Sapir is a French economist and well-known commentator who regularly appears in the French media. He has been the director of studies at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris since 1996, and is the director of the Centre d’Etude des Modes d’Industrialisation, also in Paris. Sapir is visiting professor at the Moscow School of Economics, serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Comparative East-West Studies and the Review of Geography, Economy and Society and is a contributing editor to World Oil magazine.
