Mariinsky Theater 

The Mariinsky Theater is one of the most influential and historical theaters for opera and ballet in the world. It opened in 1860 in Saint Petersburg and is named after the wife of Tsar Alexander II – Empress Maria Alexandrovna. Currently its general director is the world famous conductor Valery Gergiev.
