The World Economic Forum recently released its Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) Report 2010-2011. Russia ranked 63 out of 139 nations – the same position it held in the previous year.

On Monday, in a closed meeting in Moscow, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin talked, listened and took extensive notes as companies such as Ernst & Young, Siemens, Procter & Gamble and UniCredit shared their views on the investment climate in Russia, explaining how russia_administrative barriers and the lack of proper infrastructure were preventing more investment from flowing into Russia.

Russia’s perfume and cosmetics industry brought in about $9.7 billion in 2009 and is expected to reach $11 billion in 2010, according to ExpoMediaGroup Staraya Krepost.  Discussing cosmetics in Russia, Ivan Kozlov, an analyst at the group, told The Moscow Times that “the market is not saturated yet, and its potential will steadily attract foreign players’ attention.”
